surprise

What a pleasant surprise
two little plants
that may not look like much
but they are a sight for sore eyes

After quite a search
my husband magically arrived
with some delightful milkweed

We erected a chicken wire barrier
to keep neighborhood cats out
until they are big enough to defend themselves

I can hardly wait
to see their bright pink blooms
and hopefully some monarchs!

The other plant with its chicken wire cage.  Hopefully it will protect them from the crazy neighborhood cats.

tired of waiting
for that elusive call
tired of applying
only to be rejected
tired of wondering
who will give me a chance
tired of running
like a lost child in the mall
tired of watching
wondering why I hesitated
tired of stopping
losing sight of the dance

finish

woke up ready to work
saw the finish line in sight
what felt so far away
was here in my hands

be

learning to find myself
to rediscover what was lost
finding what I used to be
what dreams were lost
deciding that perhaps the best thing is to simply be

be in the moment

stop ignoring the inner child
learn to love myself
and find my own way away from negativity
learn how to stay positive
to stop hiding and running

be in the moment

learn to grow new roots
start new traditions
find love and life on my own
